oghmium

For you disbelievers out there, yes its in game.

some data –

Density: 141.5

I dont like this density stat since the numbers dont seem to work out very nicely. Whoever assigned weights in the original density chart didnt do it very accurately. At any rate, its between steel and tungsteel.

amount used in various weapon blades:

Thrusting Blade: 104
Great Blade: 212
Swelled Blade: 255
Sledgehammer: 990

Crafter skills maxed in all weaponsmithing and lores except oghmium and master alloys

Master Alloys: 48
Oghmium Lore: 31
Thrusting Blade Og 2H Short Handle WhW WhW
weight: 1.65
durability: 200.19
Damage: 34 torso 43 head (vs wisents, assume same vs nakee)

contrast this with a steel blade of the same construction but full lore

Thrusting Blade St 2H Short Handle WhW WhW
weight: 1.38
durability: 186.42
Damage: 37 torso 46 head (vs wisents, assume same vs nakee)

Curious to know where oghmium will top out in dmg.

  1. Density of Oghmium is 8 cm−3. It is very sharp so should be good in a blade. Considering your damage results, it seems lore skills effect the weapon by a lot.

  3. I’ve tried a tonne of recipes when it dawned on me, if you take a look at the current recipes the next best thing to Oghmium is Cronite, it consists of a T1 refined alloy, and 2 T3 secondaries. If Oghmium really is great as it is supposed to be I say it needs a high tier refined alloy and 2 T3 secondaries, if we can exclude Almine and Arcronite based on the fact they are used to make Cronite, Calamine because you can buy it, Gem Metal and Lupium because they are used for Tungsteel and TindremicMessing, that leaves us with Gold, Silver, and Skadite. Since we will need a high tier alloy, it could possibly be that we use Cronite as a base… maybe Tungsteel… Personally I think the recipe definitely has Skadite in it because nothing else uses it. Or it could be a complete mess of things being a complete mystery giving us 24000 different combinations.

If only I could have the base material the rest would be fairly easy…

I think I found the file that contains the recipe, but I couldn’t make much sense of it, it’s a jumbled mess with around 10 entries of oghmium in it, the only other files I found with oghmium in it were just for books.

  5. Herd from a reliable source that the Recipe for Oghmium is Tungsteel + Cronite + Sanguinite = Oghmium. This has not been confirmed and will probably not be for some time.
